Walk Free – Modern Slavery Animation

Walk Free are an organisation attempting to abolish world slavery, they approached us to help them promote their new campaign aiming to abolish the kafala system in Qatar.

Take action for a slavery-free 2022 World Cup at www.walkfree.org/qatar

Migrant workers in Qatar are living, working and dying in modern slavery to bring the world the 2022 World Cup. Watch this video to find out why this happening — then take action to stop it: www.walkfree.org/qatar

You guys have been such a delight to work with, so professional and accommodating (and of course, creative geniuses!)

I'll certainly be reaching out on the next video in the near future.
Amy O’Connor – Walk Free

What was the problem?

The Kafala system is an extensive package of labour laws that allow migrant workers to be severely exploited. Walk Free wanted to expose the Kafala system and tell the story of the migrant workers in an attempt to have these laws removed. Qatar has won the 2022 world cup so more and more migrant workers will be trapped and exploited if action isn’t taken.

And how did we solve it?

Working closely with Walk Free we developed an explainer video to tell the story of the migrant workers and expose the terrific Kafala System. The video was launched along with the 2014 World Cup with the hastag love football hate slavery, this was to boycott Qatar winning the 2022 world cup and to highlight the exploitation of the Kafala System to inspire people to take action.

The Results?

Within a few months of the videos release it received over 10,000 views and over 130,000 people have signed the petition to get FIFA to take action against the Kafala system.
